42nd Street Cast Party Aug. 5, 2004

The Broadway musical, "42nd Street" is touring Japan this summer. Kym Purling, originally from Viet Nam, an accomplished pianist and the music director of this tour dropped by out of the blue on Monday, August 2nd, 2004.

He had a great time and enjoyed Little Manuela to his hear's content. This lead to an arrangement for a cast party on August 5th.

Close to 50 members of the cast, orchestra and staff converged on us past 10:30 PM, beating the regulars of the club out of their own acts.

Such a grand scene as seen nowhere else. Sanae-san whose English is good enough to be her mother tongue volunteered to translate, Fukui-san who met Kym on Monday came in with Segawa-san, the renowned jazz critic, and the Webmaster joined the act to report the party. A few lucky regulars stayed on to watch the third act of the great show.

The Americans full of spirit and cheer are such a wonderful and friendly crowd.

Little Manuela's floor almost gave out from the hullabaloo that went on into the wee hours.
The confusion was so great, so for the moment, just the snap shots for you to see.
